For Thursday (11/17) and Tuesday (11/29)

While you are Fall recessing, read some poetry: Claude McKay, “Harlem Shadows“; Gwendolyn Bennett, “Heritage,” “To Usward”; Alice Dunbar-Nelson, “I Sit and Sew,” “You! Inez!”; and, Helene Johnson, “Bottled.”  We’ll have to play a little catch-up with our syllabus when we return to class on Tuesday, November 29.

Don’t forget: your annotation essay is due on Monday, November 28.
