For Tuesday, let’s talk about Phil Levine’s 1991 poetry volume – – What Work Is.  Though the book is pretty slim, there are a lot of poems inside it.  Before class on Tuesday, pick three or four poems that you really enjoyed or that really puzzled you.  Bring your list to class.  (If you need a copy of the book, check your sfsu email.)
